Firearm Safety

As a firearms company, one of the most important responsibilities we have is to ensure that gun owners are educated on gun safety. Guns are powerful weapons that can cause harm if not handled properly. Therefore, it is imperative that gun owners have a good understanding of gun safety to prevent accidents.

Here are some essential gun safety rules that every gun owner should know:

  • Always treat every gun as if it is loaded. Never assume that a gun is unloaded, even if you know it has not been used recently. Always assume that a gun is loaded and keep it pointed in a safe direction at all times. Never point a gun at anything you don’t intend to shoot.
  • Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot. Keep your finger outside the trigger guard until you are ready to fire. This helps to prevent accidental discharges.
  • Keep the gun pointed in a safe direction at all times. Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction. This means that you should never point a gun at anything you don’t intend to shoot, even if you think it is unloaded.
  • Know your target and what is beyond it. Before you shoot, make sure you know your target and what is beyond it. This helps to prevent accidental injuries or deaths from stray bullets.
  • Store your guns safely. When you are not using your guns, make sure they are stored in a secure location. This includes keeping them locked up and out of reach of children and unauthorized persons.
  • Use the right ammunition. Always use the correct ammunition for your gun. Using the wrong ammunition can cause serious injury or death.
  • Wear ear and eye protection. When shooting, always wear ear and eye protection. This helps to prevent hearing loss and eye injuries.
  • Keep your gun clean. Regularly clean your gun to ensure it functions properly. A dirty gun can cause malfunctions and accidents.
  • Take a firearms safety course. If you are new to gun ownership or want to refresh your knowledge, take a firearms safety course. These courses can teach you the proper way to handle and shoot a gun, as well as other important safety rules.
  • Consider educating your children. There is no age limit to gun safety and educating our youth on the importance of it. There are plenty of children’s safe educational videos including the cheesy “Wing Team” sing-along found on the link below produced by the National Rifle Association (NRA).

By following these essential gun safety rules, you can help prevent accidents and ensure that you and those around you are safe when handling guns. As a firearms company, we are committed to promoting gun safety and responsible gun ownership. We urge all gun owners to take gun safety seriously and to always follow these important rules.
